1 Year Stats

Today Mommy brought me to the doctor's for my 1 year checkup. She wasn't too thrilled about my stats:
  • Height - 5%
  • Weight - Below Average
  • Head - 75%
I am a little guy Mommy tells me. She also lectured me about how I should be eating more especially since I am walking now. Sometimes at daycare or at home, if I don't want to eat...I mean it. Anyways, Mom discussed a game plan with the doctor so I will be eating better soon. No more bland baby food for me anymore! Yippee!

We are due back at the doctor's in a month so hopefully I would have gained more weight by then.

LJ Smash Cake

It's My Birthday and I'll Cry If I Want To!

This was me the morning of my 1st birthday. I guess I should be happy it was my birthday but to be honest I don't want to be a toddler! No I'm just kidding...that is actually what Mommy wants. Sorry Mom, you're just gonna have to face it...I am no longer an infant and I will be grown before you know it!

Anyways, I become much happier a few minutes later...

See? Happy! These are the give away toys I have for my family and friends coming over for the party! Check out the set up...

My birthday theme was Super Mario Brothers! Mom said my party was a lot of work and she's not that good at this "kid party" thing... Well all I have to say is...you better get used to it Mom! She forgot to give out some of the goodie bags, didn't cut the birthday cake, and didn't give out the party cone hats! But it wasn't her fault. Dad all of a sudden got real sick the day before and she didn't have help...

You did your best Mom! I love you!

I leave you with me and my "smash slice of cake" YUM!

 Blogatcha Later!

1/14-16/2010

So last week I went through a lot. Tuesday, I had my checkup and was set to get my shots but I had caught a cold so my pediatrician said to hold off till next week (which would be this week).

When Thursday came along, I had developed a fever in the morning, so mom and dad decided to take me to the doctor's for a sick visit. It's been pretty horrible, I am all congested and coughing with all this gunk in my throat. Yuck! When we got there we found out that I had an ear infection, which is most likely the cause of my fever. However, the doctor noticed that my breathing was fast. She said that to adults it may seem like I am breathing normally (as normally as I can with congestion) but really I am working extra hard to breath. The nurse gave me baby tylenol and told us to come back in a few hours to check on that fever and if my breathing is back to normal.

When dad and I went back, the doctor sent us to the emergency room in the next building. It was not fun. I had to get naked and was just laying around while all these nurses kept poking me. I even had to have a needle poke my hand and it hurt. After they poked my left hand they had covered it up to keep me from messing with it. Mom and dad called it a claw because they had used a diaper to cover my forearm. After a long time there, we had to take a ride in the ambulance to the hospital. What in the world is going on!?

The doctor said I had something called "RSV" (respiratory syncytial virus). Pretty much for mom and dad it would be a head cold but for someone as young as me, it is more severe. Because I am so young I do not know how to regulate so much mucous so it collects in my lungs causing me to work so hard to breath. They sent me to the hospital because since it is so hard for me to breath it could get to the point where I give up and stop breathing because it's so difficult. That's why we had to go to the hospital.

Once mom and I arrived in the ambulance we went up to a weird looking crib. The nurse came and put all these wires on me. I did not like it one bit. I had to stay for 2 nights and nurses kept coming in and out to poke me and give me medicine. There was a baby next to us too. I hope she is okay. She sounds just as bad as me but maybe even worse! It was quite the experience. I did not like being there and I know mom and dad didn't either. Mom says it was for the best tho. If anything had happened to me at home mom and dad couldn't do anything about it so the hospital was for the best.

I am glad to be home though. I hope this mucous goes away soon. It's not fun. The doctor says it can last up to a month. boo...

1st Week of Daycare

Boy oh boy...I forgot about my blog. I have been busy lately discovering new things. I recently figured out that I have hands! That's what mom says they are called. I like to look at them and sucking on my fingers is even better!

This week mom went back to work. The week before she was telling me all about daycare and how I will have so much fun. I didn't really believe her...I'll believe it once I see it. BUT she was right! Daycare is great. I get to eat, sleep, and play with so many different things and talk to so many different teachers! Once mom or dad comes to pick me up I am pooped out! In the mornings I can't wait to go back again! Woohoo!

My 1st Blog

Hello Everyone! I am 12 weeks old today!

Let me tell you these last few months have been quite the journey for me. After a long discussion with Mom, she finally agreed I am "of age" to start my own blog. I have a lot to catch up on since my entrance into the world. I will have to recap...

September 11, 2009 is when I came into the world and it sucks. I was nice and warm inside my mom's belly and I just had to come out. It was so cold and bright. Even though it was blindingly bright I kept my eyes open. I even grabbed a hold of something which I later found out was the scissors to cut my umbilical cord. Ahh the good old umbilical cord...I didn't need to suck on bottles like I do now.

It took me some getting used to this "body temperature" thing. I get hot pretty easily and I don't like it all that much. I get all sweaty and sticky. The good thing about getting all sweaty is BATH TIME! I love my bath time. I like kicking the water and it's so warm. Another thing I need to adjust to is sleeping. I liked the soothing vibrations when I was in the womb. I didn't like sleeping in a boring crib. I keep waking up and it just reminds me that I am not in the womb anymore and I get upset. What did I do to deserve this!? Mom and dad got smart though and invested in a swing for me and that made sleeping better.

The cool thing so far is that I have a big brother and sister already, but not your typical big brother and sister. They are both dogs! "Maltese" as Mom tells me. Big brother Ike and big sister Chloe. They like to sniff me but Mom and Dad don't let them lick me. We don't get to play much but that's because Mom and Dad say I have to wait till I am older.

The doctor also said I have a thing called "acid reflux." This is when my spit up gets stuck in my esophagus and it burns. Well that's about right. It really does hurt and all I can do it cry about it. Speaking of crying...mom and dad really need to get my cues down. Hello? I said "my diaper is dirty" not "I am hungry!"

My first outing that wasn't to see the doctor was when Mom and I went to TJ Maxx and Target together. I was okay for a while but I don't like sitting in on place in one position for too long. It's annoying! I didn't want to sleep either cause there is so much to look at. You should see mom's face when I begin to make my crying face. She gets all paranoid and tries to rock, wiggle, bounce, everything you can think of to make me feel better. Mom and dad seem to do that every time we go out when I make my face. I do it sometimes just cause it's amusing. Hehe.

Mom and dad said that Halloween is on October 31st every year. Mom explained that Halloween is when people dress up and go out trick-or-treating to get candy. Personally, I think that was an excuse for Mom to dress me up. She made me wear several outfits and made me sit there for almost 2 hours while she took a gazillion pictures of me. That's a lot of flashes! I don't know if I buy this "trick-or-treating" thing...no one came to our house for any candy!

Then we celebrated Thanksgiving. It was fun having family over. Dad says normally people eat turkey on Thanksgiving but we did it Asian style and went with duck. I got a taste of it through mom's milk...I guess it tastes pretty good! Yum!

That was then and this is now. I am 12 weeks now so things are different. I learned how to smile and talk. I like smiling and I especially like when people smile back. I try my best to talk but I still don't think they understand! Come on! I am making sounds and moving my mouth here!

Well, they will get it one day. Till then I will just keep on doing what I do...
